That Dog Place - Dock Diving, Swim, Agility, Run and Sniff Ballarat

A Doggy Disneyland of adventure activities just for dogs - with a Competition Standard Dock Diving Platform, Swim, Sniff, Agility, Run, Play, Train or Dig in our huge sandpit.
Three fully fenced play yards, created just for dogs - full of fun, sniffs & all the enrichment activities you could imagine your dog would love to do.
Guidelines for Accessing the Dam area: If you are new to our space, please use common sense around an unknown body of water & familiarize yourself with the layout of the dam & identify any steep banking or slippery areas before letting your dog off lead. Don’t force your dog into the water, allow them to become comfortable at their own pace.
Your dog is never to be left unsupervised while in the dam or play areas. Only dogs are permitted in the water or on our Play and Agility equipment. Note: if Dock Diving, our Extreme Vertical and Speed Retreive set ups are specialised training equipment and are not to be used or included in the private hire of our space. There is separate training and hire costs involved if you wish to train with these.
Our space are a ongoing work in process, we are working hard to continue to make improvements - especially in the dam and agility yard. The grounds are not flat and have various surfaces, that can be quite soft or hard underfoot. This is NOT suitable for the humans to be running or doing full agility runs, but perfect to work on foundation training with access to Agility equipment - Jumps, Tunnels, A-frame, Dog Walk, See Saw, Weave Poles etc. (note: this is a working Daycare and Facility, equipment gets moved around, depending on what we have going on).
Weekdays we run Dog Daycare, I will quite often have availability blocked off (some weekends included) you are welcome to message me and see if a particular time is available - if it is, I can then unblock the timeslot for you to book.
Contactless Entry is available, Owners must check in before entering, to make sure I have any dogs here safely away from sight.
Dogs must arrive and leave on lead. Please arrive and leave by your booked times.
The yards have color coded entry gates, with plenty of options for play space, if you do not wish for your dog to get wet or swim, just choose the Green play yard gate or the Blue gate to access the water play area - or enjoy a bit of both, so many adventures to be had in our space.
The dam does have some steep banking. If your dog is not a confident swimmer, has any sort of injury or any issues that would hinder them being able to safely maneuver the banking, carefully support them if they do need a little help getting out - there is a tapered ledge around the parameter of the dam not far under the water level, your dogs feet should still be able to touch the ground while near the edges, but the middle is deep (which it needs to be for Dock Diving).
We ask that you respect our space and work that we have done to provide this for others to enjoy. Dogs are not to be left unattended at any time within the play yards and not to be allowed to scratch or pull at the privacy or shade cloth screening.

We drove an hour and a half to visit. Unfortunately I was really disappointed as we only chose this location for the agility equipment. It did not look like the photo. Not all of the agility equipment was out and a lot of the area where the equipment was had large stones and limited grass, which may be fine for larger dogs but having a smaller dog it was not. It was also sad that other owners had not picked up after their dogs. I can see it would be great for a group of dogs, especially for the dock diving, I just don't recommend if you are only wanting to use the agility equipment.

I drove 3.5 hours to visit That Dog Place to try out their dock diving facilities for my two young labradors. It was even better than I expected and Angela was super helpful. Very happy with my visit and I will absolutely be back.

What an amazing place so much for our boys to look at and explore. Even though it was cold but sunny my boys decided to have a quick dip and then realised how cold it was but were happy to chase balls and sniff the play areas. We will definitely be back especially in summer.

My two dogs loved this place. They had so much fun and we definitely will be returning and booking abit longer. One hour just was not enough for these two. They loved playing by the water and chasing each other. Thank you for sharing your space.

Great facilities, looking forward to coming back again

Our very energetic and fun loving Koolie had an absolute BLAST at That Dog Place. She loves water and the dock diving was a hit! This was her first time and she didnt hesitate to launch herself into the water! What a gem this place is! So much for dogs with all interests to engage in and be stimulated by! We certainly had a good nights sleep after one very fun and successful Sniffari at That Dog Place! Highly recommend!
